The school draws its inspiration from Sant Sarwan Dass Ji & rightly named as Sant Sarwan Dass Model School. He is widely known among his disciples for his keenness for the upliftment of the downtrodden.

He was born on 15th February 1895 to Baba Pipal Dass Ji and Mata Shobhavanti Ji. At a very young age he moved along with his father from Village Gill Patti in Bhathinda District to Village Bal in Jalandhar District, where the present Dera named after him is situated . He was bestowed the “Namdaan” by Sant Harnam Dass ji. He obtained knowledge of Sanskrit and Ayurvedic system of medicine from Sant Karta Nand Ji of Kishan Garh. In 1928 he started initiating the disciples of the Dera to the spiritual path. He treated thousands of his followers through his spiritual powers as well as free Ayurvedic medicines.

He envisaged a great awakening and empowerment of human beings through education. Therefore he laid a great stress on the education of children. He firmly believed that those parents who do not care for the education of their children are their greatest enemies. He translated this idea in his own life by collecting children from adjoining villages in his ‘Kutiya’ and teaching them, providing them with all facilities and incentives. Those whom he taught during his lifetime fondly remember and revere him and are now helping generously in raising educational and health institutions devoted to his memory. He left for his heavenly adobe on 11th June 1972, leaving after him a rich legacy.
